Meet
Nicole
Nicole Barnes is a native
of Louisville, KY and was raised in Shepherd Square
housing projects by her God-fearing mother, the Late
Ruby D. Harmon. While in high school, she
acknowledged her call to ministry. Her pastor
affirmed the call and allowed her to preach her
first sermon at the tender age of 17. She has
ministered in various arenas including street
revivals, youth/adult prisons, conferences, retreats
and churches. Now, a well respected woman of God and
highly sought after speaker, she preaches an
uncompromising, honest and enthusiastic Word that is
changing lives for the better as sons and daughters
are being reconciled back to the Father. God
continues to enlarge her territory. She is balanced
in the things of God and her sweet spirit is a
contagious force. To God be the glory!
Through the power of the
Holy Ghost, she took her life back from the clutches
of control, manipulation, intimidation, spiritual
abuse and oppression! Now more effective in the
Kingdom, her passion is Christ’s commission as
outlined in Matthew 28:19, 20, as well as perfecting
the saints according to Ephesians 4:11-14. In 2009,
NBM and partners are headed for the continent of
Africa to finally meet those that we’ve supported
through our missions initiative. Because yielded
vessels are active in ministry, there are a plethora
of projects in the works, which includes a
mentorship program, an outreach ministry, opening a
prayer center, releasing several more books and
pursuing several business ventures. The harvest is
plenteous and Nicole desires to reach more than a
few! She is dedicated to furthering the gospel of
Jesus Christ through diverse platforms.
Consequently, she has stood before thousands and her
gift continues to make room for her. God has endowed
her with beauty for ashes that He might be glorified
(Isaiah 61).
On a personal note, Nicole
lives by her Holy Ghost inspired idea called the 365 Rule, which prompts her to give something to
someone every single day of the year! She is very
easy to get along with as she closely adheres to the
scripture which instructs her to follow peace with
all men. As a praying woman, her sense of
discernment is keen. Because discretion is her
virtue, she intercedes and does not needlessly
expose others. The spiritual gifts that she operates
in are undergirded by agape love and wisdom.
Although she is graced with a thunderous anointing,
Nicole is still the essence of femininity and an
extraordinary lady. Truly the Lord is raising her up
as a 21st Century leader to create a legacy of
excellence in ministry. She does NOT have permission
to be ordinary!
She is a servant, as well
as a mentor, songwriter, recording worshipper,
published author, playwright and businesswoman.
Nicole has a word of RESTORATION in her mouth
and the mandate on her life is to equip the saints
to walk in dominion, living free from guilt, shame
and condemnation. Her first book, “Restoration of
the B.A.D. Girl” is an inspirational autobiography
that has been an instrument of healing to thousands.
In it, she shares a very vulnerable testimony,
filled with over 100 scripture references that will
empower the reader to get back on course to destiny.
Creatively, it was released with her debut CD, “Restored”. As the founder and CEO of Sweet
Spirit Productions, KY, she presented to Louisville,
KY, the gospel stage play, loosely based off of her
book, in which she wrote, directed, produced and
co-starred in. Her second book, Anointed,
Appointed and Approved for my Assignment was
released in September 2007. It is a favorite of
many! Her newly written booklet, Live Your
Best Life Today has gotten rave reviews by
partners and friends of the ministry! She hosted a
dynamic D.R.E.A.M. conference in May 2007. In
2008, she launched Sweet Spirit Empowerment Group (S.S.E.G.),
a mentorship program designed for women who work in
the ministry.
Nicole values education.
She is very inquisitive and a continuous student of
the Bible. She studied theology at Bishop Paul S.
Morton’s Full Gospel Bible College/New Life School
of Theology. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Biblical Studies and is pursuing her Masters. Nicole
is the proud spiritual daughter of Bishop Walter
Smith Jr. and Elder Pernilla Smith of New Horizon
Full Gospel Baptist Church.
Motto: “An anointed and
liberated woman is dangerous to the kingdom of
darkness, especially when she has no other agenda
than to bring glory to God.”
Her prayer is an echo of
the anointed Bishop Paul S. Morton, “Lord,
whatever you are doing in this season, please don’t
do it without me!”
